Burro Buddy: Chinook
BamBam is a really well put together, strong, healthy 9-year-old gelding donkey. He is medium brown in color.
BamBam does very well with other non-aggressive male donkeys and adores female donkeys. BamBam has previously lived with horses and other livestock but at this time insists on having at least one burro buddy in his herd.
BamBam is up to date on all farrier, dental and medical needs. He halters, leads and loads in a trailer.
BamBam had dental surgery to repair a molar problem he had for years before we rescued him. He is now fully recovered.

Coach is a medium grey standard gelding donkey standing 49 inches.
Coach suffered prior abuse the nature of which we will never know. He was eventually rescued as part of a large scale horse seizure. To this day, he is still shy and worried about being abused. But he is curious, eats from our hands, halters, leads, loads and stands for the farrier.
Coach loves both jennets and john donkeys equally.
Longhopes has provided Coach full dental, medical, and farrier services in addition to many hours of training.
This donkey is looking for a permanent safe home with another donkey of similar age. He bonds up quickly so he’d do well with a lonely donkey.
He is not suitable for hiking, riding or driving due to his fear issues.
Burro Buddy: Aston
Newton is a handsome spotted oversized miniature donkey (or small standard) at 37.5 inches tall. He is more white than spotted. He is in very good shape.
This little donkey has sensitive skin around his eyes and needs a home that will have him wear a flymask to protect his eyes from the sun. He is good about wearing it when offered.
Newton is up to date on all medical, dental and farrier needs.
He halters, leads and stands well for the farrier. He is calm, quiet and well mannered.
Both Newton and Aston are good with horses. Newton is particularly interested in horses. They would be perfect to join a lonely horse and become the new herd members.

Burro Buddy: Kipling
Dominic is a solid dark brown standard, gelding donkey. His coloring makes him very handsome.
Dominic arrived with no skills but now halters, leads, loads and stands for the farrier.
He is becoming increasingly affectionate and is very curious about people.
Longhopes neutered Dominic and has provided him with medical and farrier care. He has also received many hours of training.
Dominic is very bonded to Kipling and refuses to be separated from him. Kipling is a good, mature influence. They must be adopted together.
Both donkeys have begun packing lessons and would be a good pair for hiking.
This is a very healthy young donkey who has unlimited potential.

Kipling is a handsome light grey standard gelding.
He arrived at Longhopes with very long hooves from severe neglect, but Kipling recovered remarkably fast with corrective hoof care.
Longhopes has provided Kipling with full dental and medical care. He has been involved in many hours of training and handling to prepare him for a new home.
This is a calm and affectionate donkey with good manners. He halters, leads, loads and stands for the farrier.
Kipling is bonded to 3-year-old Dominic. These geldings do everything together. Both donkeys have started packing lessons and would be good together as packing donkeys.
Kipling is perfect for the beginning donkey owner.

Burro Buddy: Butler
Iriquois is a 5-year-old standard jennet. This is a stunning red roan standard jennet who was part of the herd rescued by Longhopes from the Spirit of the Hills Sanctuary.
She is curious about people and interested in everything humans do. She is smart and her full potential is not known.
Iriquois would do well with another donkey of similar age and health.
Longhopes has provided Iriquois with full dental, medical and farrier services. Iriquois has also received many hours of training and handling to prepare her for a new home. This donkey has begun packing lessons.
Iriquois halters, leads, loads and stands for hoof trimming.
She likes horses and would do well with Butler as herd protectors for horses.

Burro Buddy: Shrek
This 48 inch stall standard spotted gelding donkey. He is a new arrival to Longhopes and is still lean at 391 pounds from prior starvation. He is friendly, and has great potential. He halters, leads and stands for the farrier. He is up to date with farrier work, vaccinations and deworming.
This donkey would do best with another young gelding donkey of similar size and energy while being trained for an activity.

Burro Buddy: Iriquois
Butler is a mild-mannered red roan standard gelding. He prefers the company of jennets rather than geldings that want to play all the time. Butler halters, leads, loads and stands for hoof trimming. He is up to date with all vaccinations, deworming, farrier and dental care.
This donkey is gentle and good with people.
Butler has an old tendon injury to his left front leg. He gets around just fine but would not likely be suitable for packing or other activities that would stress that leg.
He likes horses. He and Iriquois would do well within a herd of horses to protect them.

Burro Buddy: Cosmo
Shrek is a medium brown standard donkey. He is not as mature or confident as his age would suggest.
Shrek has all basic skills on haltering, leading, loading and standing for the farrier but he is not for the first time donkey owner.
Shrek could live with either a jennet or gelding that has a calm personality.
Longhopes has provided Shrek with medical, dental and farrier care. He has also received hours of training to prepare him for adoption.

Burro Buddy: Newton
This is a young gelded male donkey. He is extremely affectionate and personable. He is also good with kids. He is smart and has great potential.
This donkeys is up to date on all dental, vaccinations and deworming.
He and Newton also like horses and would fit in well with a single or herd of horses.
Charlie and Chester
Age: 7 SEEKING FOSTER HOME
This is a spotted (more white than grey spots) standard jennet at 48 inches. She is tough as nails. She has been with horses.
She has sensitive skin around her eyes and needs a home that will be sure she wears a flymask to protect her from the sun. Due to Maud needing daily care with her eyes, she is up for adoption at a reduced adoption fee.
This donkey halters and leads.
She is up to date with all medical, dental and farrier care.
Burro buddy: Schroeder
This dark brown miniature mule/hinny stands 40 inches tall and weighs 370 lbs. He is an easier keeper on grass hay and must have limits on his access to spring grass.
Cruiser is very bonded to miniature donkey-Schroeder and the two cannot be separated but they both like horses so they would be perfect to become the new herd for a lonely horse. They could stay home and protect the paddock when the horse is taken riding.
Both Cruiser and Schroeder are submissive so they cannot be in a herd where they will have to compete for food or barn space.
Cruiser is up to date on all medical, dental and farrier needs.
Burro buddy: Cruiser
This adorable, small, grey miniature donkey stands 34 inches tall and weighs 275 lbs. He is very affectionate, easy going and good with kids.
This donkey is up to date on all medical, dental and farrier needs. However, he has an old right front shoulder dislocation that causes a gait change. He manages very well with one monthly arthritis injection at a cost of approximately $25.Due to his shoulder dislocation which makes him a special needs donkey; Schroeder is up for adoption at a reduced adoption fee.
Schroeder and Cruiser and a bonded pair and cannot be separated. They are very dependent on each other but both like horses and would be the perfect, small, easy to handle equines to adopt to be with a lonely horse who needed safe, gentle new herd members. Both are timid and will not compete for food or barn space.
Lenny is a white, gelding donkey who stands 49 inches and weighs 600 lbs. This is quiet, gentle, big, loving donkey.
He gets along with all other donkeys and is very easy to care for. He has great skills for all routine care.
Lenny has been provided medical, dental, and farrier care at Longhopes. He is now ready to move on to a new home.
Lenny has good skills for haltering, leading and standing for the farrier.
Lenny loves all donkeys and might be able to bond to a kind and lonely horse.
Morey is a dark brown, medium standard gelding donkey at 44 inches. He has a BLM freeze brand on his neck.
Morey is looking for a safe home, since his last home ended in neglect. Due to his hooves needing additional care, Morey is up for adoption at a reduced adoption fee.
He is a little shy but warming up all the time. He halters, leads and stands for the farrier.
Longhopes has provided Morey with medical, dental and farrier care appropriate for his age.
Morey would do best with a lonely, mature, large jennet.

This donkey has not bonded to anyone in particular. He loves the attention and will always ask for more hugs and kisses. Chinook is very calm and loves to be around other donkeys. He is looking for another gelding or a jenny to bond with. He would be okay in a home with horses but needs the companion of another donkey.
